The automated guidance system brought the ship down into orbit, hull shielding glowing red as the vessel descended through the atmosphere at incredible speed. Nearing the ground, the whir and rush of thrusters fills the air inside and outside the pressurized cabin, blasting toward the ground to slow the ship's descent.

The seat restraints disengaged, allowing the two-man crew to stand up, and get a feel for the gravity for a moment. It was rather like their home planet, maybe a little weaker. Solid boots clanged against the metallic flooring as the two canines readied themselves for another routine, planetary jaunt. At least could leave the helmets behind this time.
The rear door of the landing craft opened with a loud, piercing hiss, and light flooded in through the cracks as the ramp lowered to the ground. The sunlight stung their eyes at first, and it took a moment for Tim and Blue to adjust as they made their way out and onto the strange, new world.
The ground crunched delicately under their feet, the area immediately around the ship having been burned clean, the soil and moss scorched to a fine, black film, but only a step beyond was a world lush with, well... more moss. Green moss intermingled with patches of gray and sun-bleached beige. Black streaks ran between cubic structures, each one subtly sparkling with impossibly tiny crystals lining their boxy forms, giving the gray patches an almost circuitry-like appearance. But aside from the odd moss, the world was flat, barren, and lifeless to the naked eye.
Blue sighed, his face wearing a bored expression as he surveyed the wasteland stretched out before him. Nothing. Another planet with nothing. Lately, exploration had proven far more mundane than exciting. Before Blue can take his first step, a hand grabs the wolf's armored shoulder.
“Cheer up, Blue,” Tim's voice broke the silence of the empty world. “It won't be long before we find something interesting out here. After all these barren rocks, next planet we touch is gonna be full of life. You'll see.”
Blue looked back over his shoulder with a smile. “Yeah, you're right. There has to be life somewhere in this sector, right?” The wolf lifts his foot and swings it forward, reading to plant the first step on this uncharted world.
Far below, the deep rumbling voices of the pair of titans rattled windows and sent cars skittering through the streets. Thunderous tones of an alien language wrecking havoc on the world below; but the rumbling did not stop with their words. The world seemed to shake as the colossal wolf swings his boot forward, its treads – like upturned mountains – slowly filled the sky. The deafening sounds of such a colossal object overwhelmed the terrified screams of those below, before the entire city was enveloped in shadow... and the titanic boot steps down.
