how do you do the shading on the fox's belly...very textural and rubber-like..the white crest shadows are superb!

I don't know if this'll explain it well...

Starting with just solid colours, I copy the colour to a new layer, add noise and smudge it a little with a furry brush, then merge it back.
Then I use the lighten/darken brush to shade it.
Then I add a multiply layer and draw the shadow in on black (layer is at about 35% opacity). Then a Screen layer with white pencil on it for the last bits of shininess =D

interesting...i'll have to see if I can try that with my Photoshop elements on my Mac

I should try Photoshop. I use Paint Shop Pro 10 atm.
