They might be planning their extensive tunnel system that they dug under the village. And considering the village reaches 15 feet down underground at it's deepest point (all the homes are underground because it's warmer), it was a lot of work.

Yes he does. That's how he got the name 'Greyheart'. It's really supposed to vaguely resemble a heart (as in you'd have to squint and then tilt your head) but it's easier to just make angular heart.
