Now this is OLD. I was reminiscing last night about jazz and so I dug this baby up. This is probably the one recording from high school I'm not completely ashamed of, partly because this is probably my favorite arrangement of this song I've ever heard.
Sure there's plenty of stuff I don't like about this (we always had a weak trumpet section and our drummer my senior year was definitely the weakest we had my four years) but there's a bunch of other stuff I like. And hey, it was high school.
I was playing bari sax for those curious :3

Heh thanks, but I can't take much credit. We had some great players in the sax section.

While listening to this song, I was playing Fallout: New Vegas. I gotta say, it matched the theme of the game perfectly. =P

It may have been high school, but it's pretty dang good.

Thanks! There was a lot of talent in the group and despite how rocky things were for several reasons, we had fun when we played.

It's an interesting piece. I haven't heard of it before - who is it by?

It's originally written for a 1947 movie of the same name by someone named Bronislau Kaper but it has since become a jazz standard. I love this arrangement though because of how it plays with dissonant chords in unexpected parts of the ensemble.
