Sometimes my grand kids (mostly my son) will surprise me, and this was a great surprise. Then my granddaughter built it for me.

In all honesty, it totally reminds me of

atomic_alex 's Laura, better known as the Robo Fox or 'Ghost in the Machine'.

That's been a thing since Fabuland in the 80's and peaked with Legends of Chima, which was a large inspiration for my Heroes of Ryperna. And what hardcore BIONICLE fan can forget the Toa Hordika?

For a moment I thought your grandchild not only built that designed it, and I was completely astonished. But even so I'm amazed that even a professional designer can give something like an at least semi-convincing fur effect in low-poly chunks of ABS!

I'm quite amazed too... I was bon just a few years too early for Legos. My brother had them though, and back then there was not a lot to them at all. It still amazes me what they do with them...

Ah, Lego; that was something my veteran grandfather did in his free time, buy tons of Legos (His basement is full of a lot of the old classic 70s, 80s, and 90s sets) as well as the original Star Wars toys but he sadly sold all of the latter.

Looks like the recent 3-in-1 creator set, a lot of those have they kind of mechanical cyborg look and yet still come out looking pretty nice, this one, the macaw and the giraffe sets especially. I'd imagine the engineering's pretty solid too.
