In this new chapter of The Traveling Buddies:
After Link, Jerald and Montel found Kyle and together escape from Wolf's Lair, leaving Fox behind, they told everything to Garth about the situation, promising they'll discuss with Wolf about it tomorrow, the trio go back inside the tree to rest after all what they have gone through today.
Then, later at night, after everyone fell asleep, Link and Fox were the only ones still awake, starting to wonder what's gonna happen next, now that Wolf caught Fox once again.
Link: Oh, Fox, hope you're ok, buddy, I promise you, we'll get you out. Can't wait to lay my hands on that dirty wolf and teaching him a lesson, I'll show him I can do more than just bark! Damn you, Wolf...
After howling at the moon, he goes back inside, trying his best to catch some sleep. While Fox, now sleeping in Wolf's den, where they prepare him a nice and comfy bed with all the pillows he need, wondering if this might be the end of his adventures with his friends.
Fox: As much as comfy this is, can't find any comfort in it, not with the fact this might be my last adventure with my friends...Oh, Link, oh Jerald, oh Montel, and oh, everyone at the forest, I miss you so much...
Thinking about escaping, he decide to stay at the den instead, remembering what Skyler taught him, as he remembers what he said: "Wait until the time's right, then, act..."
Fox: I'll wait, master, I'll wait until the time's right...the question is, however...when?
Eventually, he gets tired of thinking and finally falls asleep.
With Fox caught once more by Wolf and his pack, will Kyle and the rest of the forest folk rescue him? Could this be the begining of an end? What plans Wolf has in his mind on him? To be continued...

In my opinion, Fox and his friends misunderstand Wolf's actions. And the grey brigand himself may not fully understand them. Ricky, I think I understood the plot a bit, but that's not a spoiler, just a guess. So, Wolf wants Fox to be with him, but not because he's determined to hurt or humiliate him. On the contrary, Wolf wants Fox to realise how much he loves him. Yes, love is what pushes O'Donnell to kidnap Fox, and it's the same reason he wants to be with him. But Wolf can't explain his actions, he finds it hard to admit his feelings for Fox not only to the handsome redhead and his friends, but also to himself. That's why he behaves like a bad guy, but deep down he is a good wolf.
