Having right tools makes all the difference... Especially for that kind of a job. :P

That is the theme of this whole project. Coulda done all this in a 4th the time (even not having any experience removing a tranny, I'm one hell of a fast learner) if I had only had the right tools. had to go out and buy a tie rod seperator, gonna need NEW tie rods because said seperator tore the seals on em, had to get a 32mm deep socket and breaker bar, red thread locker, and now I need ...I don't even know... I can't seem to get that tranny back in there with the jack I have. If I had parked the car 3 feet back, I coulda used the support beam on the ceiling of the garage and some pulleys to hoist it up.

I know whatcha mean, guy. I've changed the clutch in that car's predecessor (1991 Spirit R/T) and it wasn't fun either.

I dunno about the spirit, but I heard the R/T neon tranny is like 50 lbs lighter than the SRT....jealous.

hehe Yep, the Neon T-350 tranny is a featherweight compared to the SRT-4's T-850 and the Spirit R/T's large spline A-568. Then again, the T-350 was never put up against a turbo engine from the factory, so that would certainly account for the lighter weight.

of course, makes sense why a higer output engine would require a beefier tranny
