I used to hang out a lot at the library as a kid and I really admired the librarians in the children's section. I even had volunteered there, helping put returned books away. So when I created Jamie, I wanted him to be a children's librarian (who also was a hypnotist on the side but that isn't relevant here). This exact room is actually based on the children's section of the library I went to a lot when I was younger. To the right (offscreen) would be the computers section.
I remember this piece taking several days for me to finish.
