Given the Peugeot 306 is my favourite car from the historic marque, I thought it would be fun to boldly run into the nineties & tackle a Phase 1 S16. Predecessor to the better known GTi-6 Model, the S16 was kitted out with Peugeot's 16-valve (S16 = Soupape 16) two litre XU petrol engine, a slightly tweaked version of the engine that debuted in the Citroen BX19 16v (& later Peugeot 405 Mi16) producing 148bhp at 6500RPM. The later GTi-6 & Rallye models would see an increase up to 165bhp & feature a six-speed manual gearbox.
Safe to say the 306 S16 is pretty on brand for me & the name of this is literally an English translation of the Peugeot's advertising tagline in France (La Rivale). Just a quickie by my standards but I enjoyed making it never-less.
