Done entirely with photoshop and some pictures for comparison, I present the large version of my new icon.
Don't know how long it took, probably something around two hours.
Also, it's nearing 7 AM. Yay for not feeling sleepy (actually, insomnia kindof sucks).
I'm kindof not working on the piece I first showed, because the more detail it gets, the more glaringly obvious the anatomical mistakes become. Don't fear, I will get something out eventually.
