Todd Baker, the happy-go-lucky but usually plagued with bad luck corgi woke up from what he assumed to be a dream.
While he was awake, his eyes hadn't opened yet. He said: "Oh man that was an odd dream..."
His mechanical German shepherd Adlai spoke up: "Oh? What sort of dream was it master? Was I carrying you off into the sunset of a cheesy western?"
He yawned: "No, but the president made marriage to multiple partners legal and encouraged for wealthy men. Heh, married eight of the ten prettiest women in town. Those that aren't related to me I mean."
Adlai: "Well I should hope you wouldn't want to marry your sisters, that would just be sick master. Though now you do have me curious, who all did you marry? And who were the other two in the line up?" She said curious to hear his answer.
Todd who still had his face buried in what he assumed to be his pillow said: "The lovely ladies? Well Darlene, Anya and Vera Agapov, Xiyue Cheng, Khatara Anand, Jackie Martin, Aberash Gidiya, and Whitney Lilar. For the two remaining, Kichaa Uzuri and you my beautiful little bot."
Adlai: "Aww, master.. You're going to make my circuits sizzle with compliments like that."
Todd: "And only reason I didn't pick you was because of that ban on marrying machines no matter how advanced."
Adlai: "One moron just had to put his dick in a toaster and it ruins things for everyone else... Also, you may wish to open your eyes darling."
Todd: "Oh? Why is that, am I running late?" He then opened his eyes and found that it was not his pillow he had his face buried in, but rather plush polar bear thighs. Vera: "Доброе утро, милашка.."
His eyes widened as he looked around saw that it was not a dream for once and that he was surrounded by eight beautiful women, not counting Adlai.
Todd: "G-g-good m-morning?" He said in a bit of shock. He never expected to be lucky enough to have a wife let alone eight of them.
His extra large bed filled to capacity.
Aberash: "You mean that wasn't a... and Todd is my husband?" She sat stunned for a moment. "Well, there are way worse guys I could've ended up with. At least it wasn't that rotten brother of his." As she gave him a scritch behind his ear.
Adlai: "I got to work during the night to give you and your brides a gift. I didn't stop to recharge during the night. Matching wedding collars. I know it is a canine custom, I was unsure if the ladies would wear them." They all nodded that they would wear them.
Todd: "May I have the honor of putting them on? Now, to those of you not familiar with the custom: This doesn't show ownership of one person over the other. This is to signify that we belong together. And while a collar does have a spot to unclasp it, it is like a ring for other species. Representing eternal love, and commitment." He then noticed that Adlai had engraved they're names on the back of the tags in the most beautiful font she could work with at the necessary scale. He then lovingly put the collars on, before giving them each a tender and loving kiss. He then sat there perfectly still.
Anya: "What's wrong?"
Todd: "Nothing, I just don't know what to do. I never thought I'd make it this far... Kind of figured I'd be dead by my brother's hand by now."
Adlai: "Don't ask questions, but I doubt you'll be hearing from him any time soon."
Todd: "Adlai? I'm just going to ask one question: He is alive right?" He said with a raised eyebrow.
Adlai: "Of course he is. I just... sent him on a little vacation." She then dropped the shattered remains of Alex's pocket watch "I hope you don't mind that I made a collar for myself. I I can throw it away if you'd like, I just used it for practice. " He took it from her hand and put it on her.
Todd: "Legally or not, you are part of this family." As he gave her a kiss like the others. If she had a heart it would be racing right now.
Khatara: "So just checking here, even if he's loaded we can still work right? Cause I would not make for a good 'lounge around and do nothing' type."
Todd: "Well of course, I'd never ask any of you to give up your professions. But by the same token I can support all of you."
Whitney: "So... I can quit my job at that weird saloon in Duneshaven and be a housewife?"
Todd: "Sure if you want to." The obese bunny then landed on him and started kissing him.
Anya: "Do you think Whitney and I could split up the housewife stuff? I imagine with her figure she is a good cook, and I'm good at keeping a tidy house."
Todd: "Sure thing if you want to! But we can figure everything out in time."
Jackie: "Mind if I be the blunt one 'ere? How are we going to work with sleeping arrangements? Seems like if we all get him in bed we might crush him on accident. Especially if we all want a turn with him."
Adlai: "If I might make a suggestion: Each of you have a night with him, starting with Aberash and going alphabetically? And if any of you are not in the mood, or need a break I can take your night with him?"
They all looked at each other and agreed that that sounded like it would be a reasonably good set up.
