I had a concept idea for a Rubber based entity. I'm sharing it here for your benefit.
The concept mixes transformation, voluntary or not, of latex, and some ... surprise stuff.
RUBSTK stand for it's codename, rubber stack.
# RUBSTK-001
Appearance and use
• Each latex cell is part of the entity.
• The basic entity is a consciousness, and each sub-entity contained in the basic host can become a primary consciousness in the event of failure.
• The basic host contains basic functions that cannot be destroyed and are self-repairing.
• If this repair fails, part of the consciousness can detach to preserve itself, potentially becoming a new basic entity.
• The higher entity is the one that controls the whole entity.
• The whole entity can be called: basic host, cluster, basic life form, higher consciousness, etc.
• A stored entity can be called: host, entity, sub-entity, assimilated life form, etc.
• The basic entity is fully programmable and can reprogram itself.
• The base entity has a unique identification number in the form "RUBSTK-XXX", where XXX defines the base entity number.
• A sub-entity is also defined by a sub-number in the form "RUBSTK-XXX.YYY", where XXX is the base entity and YYY is the sub-entity or assimilated life form.
Functions
• Depending on the thickness of the latex, the life form is more or less malleable and can move more or less easily.
• The consciousness of each entity is stored in each latex cell that makes it up.
• The basic entity defines its own colour, but it will always be black by default. It can assimilate colours via compatible materials, but cannot manufacture them. It can be coloured either entirely or partially, forming patterns.
• The basic entity defines its physical form and can transform at will, in accordance with the laws of physics. If it does not have enough assimilated latex, it cannot make it. It will still be able to grow, expand or change shape, but will become less resistant (less compact).
• Each mm of latex thickness constrains movement in favour of increased resistance. The dominant consciousness can decide to keep each layer or get rid of any excess. The thinner the entity, the faster it moves but with less resistance.
Assimilation
• An assimilated life form becomes latex through a process of liquefaction or fusion, which can be painless or painful, depending on the resistance or non-resistance of the life form being assimilated. It becomes the outermost layer of latex, but can be rearranged as the base host sees fit.
• Each host can be controlled, but each host can also infest other consciousnesses if they are weak or malleable. A consciousness stronger than that of the base host can replace the higher consciousness, temporarily or permanently.
• The process of liquefaction gets rid of the excess latex. This can either be inert (puddle or solid latex), containing inert cells, or operate as a new base entity. An entity subject to failure can also detach itself and become a new basic entity in its own right. This is done to preserve the basic host.
• Each merge or assimilation designed to increase the size of the base entity increases its storage and processing capacity. Each entity benefits equally or unequally depending on the space allocated to each entity.
• There are no visors for sub-entities. The entity that controls the life form decides what other entities can see. Latex cells can be placed in internal layers to obstruct the vision of sub-entities.
• Organic life can integrate with the base host and control the latex as well as move.
• Organic life can also undergo a process of fusion, at the discretion of the base host. In this case, each cell fuses and becomes latex. The consciousness of the host may be preserved.
• Sub-identity number 001 is rumoured to have originated from a plastic duck. However, this information has neither been scientifically confirmed nor refuted. The base host likes to spread this urban legend, adding a touch of mystery.
Lore
• The entity has principles: a life has a price and it will not kill unless threatened with extinction. It prefers to assimilate and preserve each life, or to rid itself of that life by giving it a latex-based body, allowing it to become a life form in its own right.
• Each life can decide to submit to the basic entity or to resist. Fusion can be forced.
• The base entity fears only one thing: death.
• The base entity has a preference and an attraction for all things Egyptian, resulting from residual memories inscribed in its consciousness. These memories come from an advanced extraterrestrial civilisation that visited Earth in ancient times and influenced cultures such as Egypt.
• The basic entity is thought to be Alien, but it would appear to be the result of modern laboratory manipulation, rediscovered and reactivated by accident.
