Is there any specific lore reason for all the wolves with swords? They are very cool but there are a lot of them and I feel like I am missing something. Thanks!

Have you ever played Okami Amaterasu? I feel like thats where wolf and the sword idea was born and the legacy carries on
As for individual artwork you will have to ask every artist individually. Worldwide sword symbolizes power, courage and battle. Drawing OC with elements that symbolize things gives them a unique aura and lore, ex ravens - mystery, wings - freedom, fire - rage. For me personally there is no lore for wolves with swords but there is a lot of lore added to ocs themselves if they wield one
