I am on your side there. Final Panel of 2 pages ago when Hemlock stood over the pups to kill them she no longer had those fully murderous pupils. It was more the determined ones to kill if needed not the life or death ones. Unlike Seral the pups are no real danger to her and just future killers. She might still have a heart after all.
Swift you only need to flee if you do not take Rask's invite (and I know that that one is moot as Oren is very bigotted still but they can always be the guard outside the Hollow under the watchful eye of the a psychopathic hare). Of course you now will see a dead Seral killed by a meager hare who is possibly standing very threatingly above your pups still. Hopefully that totally sureal picture will show you what that Marten meant when he said the world can change.
