Seemed like all the virtual pet sites of the early 2000's were either UK or Australia based. I think Neopets was based in England.

That feels quite surprising, but then again I suppose the UK is more tech and services based compared to manufacturing or resources.

I always associated Japan, China, and Taiwan was being the more tech based countries. England I always saw as something you'd see in something "cottage core" by the sea. Actually, that's my mental image of Scotland, Ireland and Wales too. Maybe based on all these countryside police dramas my mom watches that take place there.

My niece went to a private Christian school for kindergarten. One of her uniforms consisted of a plaid version of this with a collared blouse and cross tie.

I'm in the US where only private school kids were uniforms to school. I have EXTREME sensory issues and there's NO WAY you could get me into a school uniform as a kid. Even as an adult there's more types of clothes I cannot wear than ones I can. My parents could never get me into a private school around here because of that. I always wondered what life would be like had I been born in the UK and forced to dress like that for school.
