The world of Batan is a part of a very special class of worlds within the connected worlds setting. Thanks to the great Defiler War nearly two hundred years ago, when the dark goddess Gess was slain the energy she amassed was released all over Batan. Powerful energy waves from this goddess of darkness ended up creating materials never before seen. Now in the present day, these materials have become synonymous with those living in this world.
{TOP ROW}
Mesospheric Aether (The Blue Canister): Located between the mesosphere and stratosphere, mesopheric aether (aka Skythrol), is the near limitless fuel that is harvested from the heavens itself. Taking the form of sparking blue gas, when refined and diluted, becomes a powerful liquid fuel but easily combustible fuel that powers all airships.
Batanine Gas (The Green Canister): Batanine Gas is known by many names from Gess's Gas to Aetheric Plasmine Gas is a material unique to Batan. While energy weapons had been developed before, it was typically limited to artificers and militarizes who could make these bulky weapons of war. What prevented their mass production was due to overheating caused by using the refined lightning and fire crystals as well as the expensive refined quartz lens required for firing.
The discovery of this gas provided a breakthrough in affordable energy weapons by providing a resource that can energized laser or plasma beams by reducing potential heat build up and lowering cost.
Lightmetal Alloy (The Blue Metal Girders): The material that starts as the base for all airships and experimental star ships for the world of Batan. Using a mix of different metals, Lightmetal Alloy is ten times lighter than mithril but provides the strength of solid steel making it the perfect material to create entire fleets of airships.
{MIDDLE ROW}
Skystone Blue and Skystone Violet: While Mesospheric Gas is the most commonly used fuel to power airships, those with golden sovereigns to spare can invest in Skystones. More valuable than diamonds, Skystones have the unique property of generating lift when channeling electricity or aetheric energy through them. While this lets an airship fly without the need of skythrol, depending on the Skytones quality however, it may affect performance.
Skystone Blue is the more abundant variant however its more liable to shattering and losing its thrust if cracked.
Skystone Violet or also known as Dragons Stone, is condensed skystone making it heavier but much more resilient to breaking and providing no loss to lift or energy output.
{BOTTOM ROW}
Araculite (Pink Crystals with small crystals): Created from the Araculi Empire invaders, Araculite is a material beyond what normal mortals can comprehend. What is confirmed is these crystals aetheric frequency or what a material can be best used for can be changed to fit any school of magic.
Polished Mana Crystals: While these Mana Crystals are not unique to Batan, polished mana crystals are commonplace used from powering magical devices to the mana blades they are paired with. Due to the boom of new magical crystal mines all over Batan, it has become the worlds major export.
