"I had the misfortune of running into one of those little blighters; mimics I believe
they were called. I had just finished setting up camp for the night when I stumbled upon
a small chest and being curious by nature I attempted to pry open the container to reveal its contents.

To my surprised it sprouted legs and hissed at me quite fiercely.
Though taken aback at first the creature seemed harmless enough, only
scurrying away a few feet before it seemed to get preoccupied by shiny
buckles upon my pack. It seemed enamored with shiny objects akin to a
bird. I thought perhaps to keep the little thing, however upon waking
the following morning I realized it had absconded with half the contents
of my pack and my last pair of good socks."
