Well, it was inevitable I was going to get this pic one of these days! My sona dressed as one of my favourite characters of all time who uses his carefree and witty personality as a coping mechanism to deal with his depression he has from childhood trauma, Dante… Oh yeah, did I mention Dante’s actual backstory in this series is pretty depressing? Yeah, it’s not all pizza and guitars and briefcases that turn into rocket launchers and surviving being stabbed in the chest like it’s another casual day at the office.

There’s a lot of reasons as to why I love Dante. His actual personality for one thing but also his fashion sense. Not counting Reboot Dante I’m not even kidding when I saw Dante has consistently had some of the best drip in this series. And that goes for both his default costumes and his alts. Granted there aren’t many alts but still. And out of all his costumes in his wardrobe his classic DMC 1 costume has always been my favourite. Most of that is granted because of my own nostalgia towards DMC 1 as that was the only game in this series I had until I became an adult but also just because it's just a really good design in general. The red and black undershirt with the coat and pants with black boots just looks appropriately stylish. It’s pretty much the only costume I ever actually wear in 3 and the Definitive Edition of the Reboot. Also, I’m pretty sure even Capcom themselves love it two since Dante in the 2007 animated series uses his DMC 1 design, the Dante Costume for the Mii Swordfighter in Super Smash Bros Ultimate is this very costume, it can be found worn by one of the bots in the PlayStation 2 section of Astro’s Playroom and it can be worn in Monster Hunter World.

Obviously this isn’t me saying that it’s the objectively best costume in the series. It’s just my personal favourite and this is one of those things that purely personal preference. Though regardless of which Dante design is your fav at least literally anything is better than his default Reboot design. That “Dante” design makes about as much sense to me as the people who go on about all the issues with modern gaming but then turn around and defend the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as if those things were not literally ground zero for many of the issues with modern gaming today.
