In honor of where it all began, I decided to draw my own version of all of the original Toa Canister art for each of the 6 original Toa, and then who knows, maybe later I will draw their Nuva forms too!

Pohatu is the friendliest of the toa, a reliable teammate, generally an easygoing nice guy, basically everybody likes him and would be hard pressed to find anything negative to say about him, even Kopaka the biggest introverted loner of the group. He has a good sense of humor often helping to boost the overall group morale even in times of danger, and in times high tension among the team he attempts to bring quarreling Toa together, and never takes rude remarks too seriously and easily forgives his friends if they make a mistake.

Pohatu often engages in Fun and Sports with his villagers, though it would usually turn into everybody vs Pohatu in order to even make it remotely fair, he is probably the most athletic of the Toa, and that is saying a lot when Tahu surfs, Gali is an incredible swimmer, Lewa jumps through the jungle like an acrobat, Kopaka Snowboards, and Onua digs through the earth like a mole-man, they all could be Olympic level athletes. He's strong, he's fast, he's acrobatic, the one thing he can't do is swim, he would quite literally sink like a rock. Once he hallucinated that he was drowning and it was enough to make him pass out.

Pohatu can also a be fierce and clever fighter whenever conflict arises, especially when he felt the weak were being threatened and unlike his companions didn't need to carry a weapon opting to beat enemies with swift powerful kicks! During the Bohrok arc a Matoran named Hafu trapped himself outside the village gates while a hoard of Bohrok were on their way topplinging his own precious sculptures to use as a barrier for the village but putting himself in danger. Pohatu showed up to his rescue but the two were still surrounded so thinking quick he used the Mask of Mind Control to to quickly convey a plan to another Matoran Hewkii standing on the wall getting him to kick a ball into the rock he was standing on in such a way that it catapulted Pohatu and Hafu to safety which was just brilliant!
