This is still a WIP, however I like it like this for now and am not sure when I'll get around to finishing it, so I'm moving it to submissions from scraps.
A song that actually came to me in a dream. Yes, rather cliché I know, but it did. The rest is rather self-explanitory.
Basically I am trying to go for a song that starts happy, and ends sad.
Story:
You begin a journey on the open road. You have no fast means of transport, but you are willing to travel the vast distances between towns on foot with friends. You and your friends are having a wonderful time.
Then you get to the first town and a friend finds their soul mate. A bit of a bummer, but no big deal. However one by one your friends abandon you for better opportunities. Leaving you to walk that open road all by yourself. No one to hang out with, no one to call friend.
No one will join you, because they are afraid of strangers. Sorta like hitchhiking nowadays.
So, this is a WIP so I'd like some input, what does everyone think?
As always, ANY CRITIQUE IS A HELPFUL AND NEEDED ONE! I can't say I will take every critique to heart and change the song accordingly, but I can say if it's helpful and has enough meat for me to chew on I will DEFINITELY take it into consideration.

Hmm...I'd probably go about doing this by having lots of instruments in the beginning, starting out simple-ish, but then becoming more complex and interwoven. Over time, each instrument is removed until only one instrument remains and plays in a minor key or something like that. But that's probably an elementary way of doing it.
Or something that starts out metal-ish and ends post-rock-ish.
Of course, it's something easier said than done.

Ha, yes it is. I am actually doing something of the sort with 
rajara and it made me realize that it is a PAIN in the ASS to do it that way the normal way I do music.
Though I understand, I tend to overuse that when I create songs. I'm trying to do new things with songs so they don't sound terribly the same. However that may be a losing battle with the kind of songs I like to make.
However I'll take it into consideration and I'll see about changing it up. I rushed it honestly so it probably needs more work. As I can hear spots where it could be filled with more instruments or more interesting melodies. And plenty of places it could be more interesting.
For the time being, this will have to do, as I still have 3 people waiting on songs not including Elaan who is waiting his turn patiently. If you'd like a slot the freebies ARE open, and the journal somewhere in my list of journals. Though it should be close to the top.
