I think it makes more sense that Dirge exists because of Cherrie Bomb, not Bloo. Cherrie Bomb and Filament are "gremlins" and the reason they look like twins is because they're Catt and Flickie's heart. They're the embodiment of the love their respective Host shares. Cherrie however has horns (and 4 spikes in rows of two on her back) to indicate she's a bit more... explosive. Plus, the name and her diet of bombs. Filament is a baku, but in a way that's good for Flickie and even Catt.
When Dirge manifests, Cherrie Bomb and Catt's "Innocence" flee to the Core of Catt's soulspace, the only place that is shielded from Dirge's onslaught of the spiritual dimension. The more chaos Dirge causes, the less likely Catt can heal. Bloo is not fast enough to clean up the damage caused by Dirge's tentacles (That "pet" is "Distress") and fight her directly. But she's the only Resident capable of fighting something like that.
I'm not entirely sure how to satisfy this chapter in my life. So... there's no cure yet.

There's some deep stuff going on here. I must admit that I'm impressed and fascinated by the way you've reflected your situation in your art and your stories. It's artistically well done, if not pleasant for you or the characters. Still, it's certainly a good way to help process everything. Thank you for sharing your art and stories with us.
As always, I'm here for you, Catt. Let me know if you need anything.

Writing and making art is a great way to process the thing we go through in life, be it through journaling or making a fantasy story loosely based on what we've been through. I think it's a great way to process, vent, and maybe even explore different ways of handling things. Your world is a reflection of what you've been through. A beautiful depiction of the struggles, pains, and successes, and I actually hope it continues to develop and that you both grow as you get through this current challenge and find your path again.
