ehhhhdit: i replaced the "if only that bullet had come a little bit close-uhhh-" line so it is less of a problem if people think for some reason that I identify with the purple creature, though I think it makes more sense the other way.

i can probably find a better example that doesn't involve apparent advocating of assassination --I don't; I think Trump is hilarious, but an awful president and a worse influence on a huge segment of the population who take an entertaining imbecile too seriously-- , but i also "like" the contrast of smugly approving mass murder and then getting offended at a single attempted murder.

that isn't exactly what it is, but that seemed like an appropriate keyword for a comic strip about a blob person with horrible ideas about how the world works. The creature was yellow before but I didn't want anyone to somehow think it was meant to be the yellow snake-creature that I usually show in these strips. I just have a tendency to toss neon on everything.
If there is a Like function for comments, I would have added that comment to my Likes. I think you explained succinctly on the paradox of free speech in the way that if said free speech must make way for others to squash other people's freedoms, it is no longer free speech.
Haha hey guys, I heard Nancy Pelosi's husband damn near got his brains bashed out by a crazed attacker who was attempting to kill her for explicitly political reasons. Lol must be his gay lover! Lmao I identify as hammersexual now, thanks attacker guy!
Wait, did you say someone tried to kill MY favorite politician? DO THESE RADICAL LEFTIST STALINIST MANIACS IN BIDEN'S DEEP STATE EVEN UNDERSTAND THAT WORDS ARE VIOLENCE?

That's not what's happening, though. Most of the jokes I saw about Paul Pelosi were about how squeamish the mainstream news outlets seemingly were about reporting the incident in its entirety, leaving out important details about the attacker. There's a big difference between that and "Don't miss Trump next time." One is mocking the reporting of an attack, the other is mocking the victim of an attack.
Trump Jr. posted an image he titled "Paul Pelosi Halloween costume" consisting of underwear and a hammer. Dinesh d'Souza, Ted Cruz and Paul Hifggins didn't exactly mock Pelosi directly, but they did say they thought the attack was some sort of false flag. Trump himself, in a speech, asked by the way, how's he (Paul) doing? and got laughs from his crowd.
The Left Can't Meme is an expression typically used to criticize the political memes created by left-leaning internet users as unfunny or cringeworthy. It is believed to have been created on /pol/ and rose to prominence during the 2016 United States Presidential Election.
The phrase began spreading through the course of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election and saw a sharp rise following the election. On January 3rd, 2017, Facebook page Hoppean Snake Memes posted an image of a leftist Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism meme with the caption "The. Left. Can't. Meme.", gaining 110 likes and reactions. On March 24th, 2017, a post on conservative Reddit-esque site VOAT made a similar point with an image of troll dolls and right-wing buzzwords like cuck and triggered.
On May 18th, 2017, the term was defined on Urban Dictionary by user "Running in the nyetis" as "Its a insult for the left leaning people who make memes about the left. The insult is mostly used by the alt-right, /pol/acks or simply people who hate the left." On August 3rd, 2017, YouTuber user Leftist Cuck posted a video talking about the phrase that gained over 157,000 views.
On September 14th, 2017, webcomic artist Kukuruyo[6] posted a blog comparing some of his comics to some leftist comics to illustrate the point that the left can't meme.
In 2019, the book Can the Left Learn to Meme? by Mike Watson was released by ZerO Books. The book, which is sympathetic to the left suggests the left embrace bizarre and abstract aesthetics using Vaporwave as an example.
In February 2020, the author released a video called "I'd like to teach the world to meme" on the YoutTube channel Theorywave Nights which features a melody from a 70s Coca Cola Advert which later became a hit song. The video features footage of lefttube figures Angie Speaks and ContraPoints as well as Overly Attached Girlfriend, Bad Luck Brian, lolz cats, Doge Dogs and Sanders memes.
tl;dr: too much text, it ain't fun.

Common take whenever a leftie delivers good criticism: find a way to bash them for something else.
Naw man, I agree, we should slide right into fascism all because Stonetoss is better at making snappy punchlines. Unfortunately for democracy, the right wingers drew us as the seething NPC and themselves as the Chad Wojack.
Chip Chilla, Beechum, New Norm, Leo and Layla, I guess those are cool because they "identify" as having good jokes. People don't say "the right can't meme" because they don't even think they're trying to meme when they're all saying the same nonsense over and over.
Unironically, this is just a sad, worn-out excuse for an expression coming purely from people who are tired of losing and want a way to bash lefties who, more often than not in my experience, aren't even trying to "meme". It's reactionary nonsense at its finest. "You're not funny so I'm glad I don't agree with you" - same, brother~

I don't honestly know if anyone can make this concept snappy as a comic, though. If you simplify down to one statement and de-verb-ify it for flow, you risk making it sound agreeable and failing to demonstrate hypocrisy. It becomes a lot easier to brush aside as "an opinion I/they don't have", therefore, not hypocrisy.
The "problem" with the left largely seems to be that our positions are too nuanced. BLM (why don't ALL lives matter?), ACAB (but police are necessary!), lots of things require too much explaining compared to the right wing's simple, straightforward messaging. MAGA (fill in your own goals/desires), woke (if you hate it, that's what it is), fake news (anything damning of us is made up, trust me bro), they're more thought-terminating cliches than anything substantive you can talk about. But that's the inherent battleground: feeling your knees jerking and responding to that (reactionary) versus thoughtfully and deliberately approaching the nuance of issues. Things are almost never black-and-white, and being on the side that has to explain the shades of grey doesn't do us any favors.

So you have become so enlightenedly non-political that you mistook a political vent comic for a generic comedy meme?
And then you also thought that groypers who intentionally searched out the worst leftie content to parade about had some sort of point that anyone should care about?
Just spit out the blackpill dude, if politics disturbs you too much to bear then just avert your eyes and get comfortable with hoping it will all turn out ok because politics has always happened whether you know about it or not.

Actually most here on FA would take offence to the shirt worn by the little purple guy more than any of the other shirt sayings. :/
Still love your comics and wish you had time to produce more. Also like the tech, what little we can see of it, of the yellow-green guy. I don't know if you'll ever use him again but it's pretty good for a throw-off character. :)

Hats off !
This short comic is a masterstroke !
The slight modification you have brought on the last panel hasn't affected the power / dynamic of the cartoon and has elegantly avoided some touchy subject without missing the final target (if I might say so). I truly admire you for this ... and I also envy your brillant skill !

That is definitely a change! I made the mistake in 2016 of waiting to see what trumpy did as president to decide how much of a creep I thought he was, as if suddenly having real responsibility would prompt him to stop screwing around. But I did not vote for him then or ever would.
Elon Musk, is that you?
One of the worst problems with the idea of assassinations are the inevitable unforeseen consequences.
And now there's been another Drumpf assassination attempt. He immediately started trying to raise money on it. Next will come accusing Dems of stochastic terrorism and comparing himself with Jeebus.
