Arrangement: Winning Run (Super Hang-On)
Continuing with my project of doing all the songs in the soundtrack to the classic SEGA video arcade game "Super Hang-On," a motorcycle racing game from 1987, this is the third song of four the player can choose from before the race begins. This is entitled "Winning Run."
I did this one for my traditional trio of alto saxophone, vibraphone, and piano, although the alto sax gets into the high registers on this one. If somebody were to actually play this, a soprano saxophone might work better for the high parts. However, the beauty of writing these arrangements to start with is that it helps keep my brain exercised.
Original music composed by Katsuhiro Hayashi, Koichi Namiki
