True story. Exactly this happened to me some time ago. It all ended well, but it was stressful. I could've sworn that it had been working in the same environment before.

Ahhh. Something I know well from experience...
Nothing EVER works perfectly in a demo, even if you've tested it a million times even on the very same machine... Doubly so if networks are involved.
I once had to show off a graphics heavy app that had to run remotely over X. It worked fine, as long as it was quiet time in the local network, and the demo was scheduled during a quiet time. But no, of course that would be the only quiet period when it refused to work longer than half a minute before getting a "broken pipe" error like clockwork...

Haha, oh hell, I've done that with a C++ class I had. I eventually dropped it though, because the teacher made me crazy. However, atleast I stayed in long enough to grasp the basic concept of it, that way if I ever picked up a book or read online tutorials I might beable to pick it up again.
Also, not a bad human. Yeah, it's not a species I'm very fluent with drawing either, so you're not alone. :P
