I was at a reptile show with BJ today just to get some supplies. I saw a table with Red Rusty Scorpions (Babycurus jacksoni). This was a total impulse buy, but he needs the same care as most my scorpions and was cheap. He's a bit more bright then the photo. His colors just sold me. First time they've been around here, that I've seen.

That's semi true, though not completely. My desert hairy has thin claws but is about as poisonous as a wasp. This guy, however, is a bit more poisonous. He's in the fat tailed family and has a painful sting, not one that will kill, but one that hurts pretty bad for a few days. I don't handle my scorpions with my bare hands. The only ones I have is my juvenile emperors. It's safer for me and them that way.

On this earth, for every human there is a creature that calls to them. As long as we accept them for what they are, and build our relationships with them in response to their needs and with respect to how they live, to each his or her own. It's a shame that some folk seem to freak at anther's choice of pet.
I for instance detest wasps, but somewhere out there, is someone who'd probably has a terrarium full of paper nests. And here I am, a furry that loves honeybees (Hey! They make HONEY! how can't you love em?! :-D)
He's a pretty pretty thing. Hehe, I'd move veerry slowly around em. :-3

That's exactly how I feel about rats! Especially they are the friendliest, cleanliest, and most intelligent pet rodents. :3 They are the best pets in the world to me, despite their getting sick easy and short life span...
I must say I am terribly arachnaphobic, like hyperventilate, cry, and stop breathing acting up my asthma. It's rather pathetic! XD But I appreciate how they are beautiful, make good pets, and are so interesting. I just can't look at them or be in the same room. :( It's too bad more people can't be as sensible.

but does he glow under blacklight?
Freaky fact. A large majority of people who are totally spazzed by spiders by image alone, are not nearly as repelled by scorpions. This is inexplicable by any measure, as the varieties of lethal scorpion are much more prevalent then lethally venomous spider.
I have always been terrified of spiders. I am not specifically fond of arthropods in general, insectoid or arachnoid, but while i would prefer they left me alone, i do not cringe at the sight of them... this is weird, no?
