First real ref I got for him after perhaps a year of just doodling around. I don't think there's an actual "sun lizard" but it sounds like there should be and I wanted him to be essentially photosynthetic and waterballoon-ish as a main trait.
Octive's first ref is kinda like this one but was intentionally kept to one typical SNES screen size. I thought I could up it for this cause I wanted to capture his size well enough and have some more expression examples. I even get to make it one pic bilingual (or maybe "Chibi" makes it trilingual, assuming it's not been turned into a bit of a false friend, like how Japanese "Mansion" has.)
