This is the first Wally AU ref I ever made and it was a while ago ToT

Wally was found as a pup, washed up on the beach of Welcome Home covered in wounds, which later healed into scars, caused by shark hunters and debris that had cut him while he tried to swim away, not that anyone else knew that. It was Poppy that found him, and she was the one who took him, basically adopting him and becoming his mother.

His habit for biting others out of affection really freaked everyone out, but they learned to live with it, Poppy usually offering objects for him to chew instead, but he’d usually leave it completely unusable by the end of the day. He enjoys painting as much as any other Wally but really prefers surfing with Barnaby and going out for drinks (especially rum). He has a strange habit for sitting by and talking to the sea. He knows it’s not alive and won’t talk back, but he finds it relaxing. He also tends to take naps on the beach while the waves lap at him, worrying both Poppy and Home a lot.
