One of my somewhat ancient characters, from a story I worked on over eleven years ago. I've been wanting to unfreeze this project for a while now though, but never had enough motivation, or time, or both... However, this year's ArtFight theme, the "Stardust", just inspired me enough to finally do something about it, and here we are!

So, Youpi is my fictional character based on "Duck Dodgers", the sci-fi animated series related to the Looney Tunes franchise.

Events of the show itself take place in the 24½th century, and that inspired me to create my own story within this universe adding many additional lore, all the way back in 2012-2015. (Gosh, coming back to this project after so long now is such a love letter to my teenage self, who had ambitions but didn't have enough skill! Because now I'm determined to finally continue working on this with all the current experience I've got!)

Moving on to this character specifically, this little thing is a member of a rare, almost extinct race called a Leuflonian.
The inhabited part of their home planet was destroyed due to meteor shower a while ago, and although most of the inhabitants died, some managed to escape and fly away just in time. But their further fate is unknown.
This kid also lost his relatives, and by chance ended up on a not very friendly random planet, where the locals really didn't like any kind of aliens. His main dream from that moment was to escape from there and find another better place to live, but for a long time he had no chance of realizing this.

However, one day someone else's trouble became his salvation. A spaceship, with Flare, the caracal, and Marvin the Martian (a canon character from the show) in it, flew past this planet where Youpi was stuck, but crashed and so they were forced to make an emergency landing.
These two worked together for the benefit of the Solar System for several years to implement reforms and many other useful things. And despite the difficulties and disagreements at first, they gradually became very reliable colleagues and friends, which then grew into something even more, making them a great couple. In addition, a caracal became the official ambassador from Epsilon by that time.
In this case, they were on business on some other very distant planet, but now were forced to solve this problem here and now. When Youpi met them, he imidiately realized that this was his chance to get away from this place, so he tried to do everything possible to help. Sadly, he couldn't do much, being just a kid, but at least he could tell them where to get some resources and which of the locals wouldn't try to kill them right away... probably.
The couple, when they learned of the boy's fate, of course could not refuse to take him with them as soon as they could subdue their spaceship. And although at first they were going to just take him away from this place, after which they hoped to find someone else who could take him in - but the ship repairment took quite some time, and during this time they both became pretty attached to the little guy. Of course, they decided to adopt him themselves - especially considering that they are different species and would never be able to have children of their own anyway, and this one strangely resembled both of them in some way, while remaining its own thing.

Some basic information about the character:
- male alienish creature known as Leuflonian;
- a child, age changes a little throughout the story, but in this art piece he's around 10-11 years old by earthly standards;
- orientation: too young for relationship stuff yet, but must be a demisexual straight in the foreseeable future;
- personality type: INTP;
- has short soft fur with a somewhat tabby pattern, a small tuft is always visible on one of the sides of the cheeks from the right perspective;
- due to difficulties in childhood, Youpi's somewhat quiet and not very confident at first, but observant and opportunistic - over time, he becomes much more bold and cheerful tho, having support in the form of newfound family and friends;
- loves to draw, it always helped him to cope with whatever life circumstances threw at him, using any suitable tools for this, and at present he's very diligent in this matter, as for a kid.

The outfits shown in the pictures are all casual. Of course, he had different clothes in the past, but it doesn't really matter now. Combining these clothes can be any way you want btw.
