This is just me, but while I don't mind the black and white style, the screen tone does seem a bit too pronounced. I don't know if the tone itself is a bit too dark or too large or because there's so much shaded area I just see so much of it.

If the magic orb of Fear, why not have it slowly change the screen tone from full color to how you envision the comic being detailed throughout. Could be subtle or direct, for how you want to show off the fear of the orb.
