I also wanted to Scuba dive; like really bad... But; not having access to the tanks and such; kinda limits that. I had to make do with doing some manual dives; just goin' down wif a lungfull. It's kinda fun... except the whole "Lungs esploding" feeling after a little bit... :(
On a slightly curious note; I've found every so often that my natural buoyancy diminishes... sitting around on the bottom gets a little odd... as is walking around on the bottom of the 12' Dive pool; looking for my watch XD Some people tell me it's impossible; others have had it happen to them (my Father; for instance; has no natural buoyancy; he just sinks like a rock). Once I reach a certain depth, though; it returns with a vengeance XD

Hrrrrrm dunno what that iz....... :'S swallowed some rocks? ^^-; lol
-I know that for diving you have to wear weights alot of the time to keep all the gear under ^^-;
and yeeeeahp! gotta have a good lung capacity for snorkling ^^-; (unless you find a good shallow-ish spot :'3

Psh. Punching jellies is a past time of mine its fun watching them pop inside out and freak out. I can teach you a million things you can do underwater. Ive done everything from punching jellies to upside down carmel dansen dancing and fishing for sharks with my spool on a deco stop :3 Be careful diving Australia though! I may punch jellies, but id stay away from boxes all day. And if you feel a random sting but dont see anything, get outta the water! and have a fun next 9 days to 2 weeks :3
But in all seriousness, diving is an amazing sport that is a major eye opener and a blast when done safely. Im glad to see someone else getting into it :3 If you ever have an questions by the way, dont be afraid to ask me :3 Im a certified Divemaster, GUE cave diver, and TDI decompression diver. Dive safe and have fun!

and iknowright X'S Australia = EVEEERYthing wants to kill you! X'S
-Have to say I din' know diving was an extreme sport :'3 but I guess it is with all the gear you need, aye? My mum used to dive around Tas for a while back when~ I can't wait til I finally get a chance to! :'>

Most of my diving is in the California coastline for cold water recreational diving and Flordia panhandle for most of my cave/technical diving. It CAN be an extreme sport, usually only in the case of cave and technical diving, because theres so much more task loading and you have alot more risk on your shoulders. I actually just had 2 friends die last month on a deep technical dive out here in Cali at a quarry around 150 feet.
When you purchase your own gear, it can get really confusing because there are alot of terms you need to be familiar with, so it can be alot to take in at first D: but with time youll understand everything and itll become second nature, just like your buoyancy :3

fo rizzle~! ^^-; reakon I'd trial it out first up on the GoldCoast here ((Great Barrieir Reef, HOMOOHOOMMMMOMGG!!!)) and you'd have to have full wetsuit gear for here ontop of breather gear/tanks as its just so cooooooooold~~
*though I've never been swimming up the NorthEast coast... apparently its warmer :'>

Hehe, the GBR is great diving, just try not to catch it on a algae or coral bloom, tends to kill the viz. And as for cold, i just use a drysuit and im fine for any water for up to a good hour and a half, if im gonna stay longer, i have an argon inflation kit to keep me nice and warm :3 Only water ive never dove is arctic water, and i totally want to for the beluga whales and the narwhals X3
