The Polycrested Elysian Crocodile is a large, predominantly piscivorous reptile that inhabits the swamps, lakes, and slow-flowing rivers of western Elysium. The multiple rows of scales/crests going down its body help break up the water tension as it swims through the water, making it more stealthy. While its diet consists mostly of fish, this croc is not above snatching the odd bird, small mammal, or any other creature that wanders too close to the water's edge.

Aside from breaking up water tension, the crests serve a role during the mating season. At the start of the dry season, male crocodiles will undergo a change in which their crests will become more colorful and striking. The more vibrant the crests, the more females will likely approach the male for mating.
