Just south of Sierrace lies the city of Semper Oaks, a neighboring district that shares many commodities, cultural norms and lifestyles much like Sierrace. They are in fact locations one in the same but different all at once. The mayor of Semper Oaks, as it has been for generations, has been a member of the Furringham family as far back as Semper Oaks can recall to its earliest history.
Korin is the son of the current mayor but he won't be taking the reins as mayor like his father. That role lies in the eldest, his sister, Dolores (who I'll be drawing in a not so distant future). Being held irresponsible to the conducts of formalities, politics and pleasantries; Korin took a different path in life. One which catered to his personality much more dearly.
As a DJ.
He didn't mind growing up in the shadow of his big sister because that gave him more time to his own devices; plus he's DEATHLY shy. Being privileged as he was growing up under such a prestigious family, he was of course showered with all he desired and took advantage of this and fueled his love for music, rhythm, vinyls, CD's, decks, sets, anything he could get his hands on and into his ears.
As stated before, he's very shy, so shy in fact; how his career became so prominent remains a mystery. Though many speculate he does what most artists do and let the work speak for himself rather than himself for his work. A producer, a silent rebel, a tranquil enthusiast with an untold wild side only attained through listening.
Aside from being friends with Juju; he's since become allies with Oreo Zhang; whose footwork dazzles endlessly to Korin's work, the two of them becoming great friends, complimenting one another's talents often.
=====
Korin meddled around through large boxes of records, a massive library of them tightly packed together as he flipped through his audio archive quietly.
"He doesn't say much does he?" Oreo said.
"Don't take offense to it..." Juju minded.
"What's he doing, anyway?" Oreo asked.
The two of them watched as Korin pulls out a vinyl, points at it, lays it down on his wheels of steel and begins spinning, and scratching the beat with effortless fade technique.
"Bringin' down the house..." Juju smiled, nodding his head to the twitchy, however soulful rhythm of Korin's menacing turntablism.
"Ohhh, SHIT! Go go gadget, FOOTWORK!" Oreo cheered, being drawn in by Korin's record wrecking magic and started forward, building up greater dance moves as Korin continued.
=====
DJ's take note. Scratching should be like a rite of passage or getting your doctorate... you are NOT, I repeat, NOT a DJ unless you know how to perform the sacred art of scratch form turntablism.
