Today on the Vexillological Corner...
The first of August is Swiss Day for 🇨🇭 Switzerland, home of the famous Matterhorn mountain! With a 1:1 flag ratio, the white cross or plus represents the Christian Cross, including the old Swiss Confederacy.
The first of August is also an occasion of independence for the country 🇧🇯 Benin. This flag is a lot similar to 🇲🇬 Madagascar but flipped, but the colors of the flag are Pan-African colors, being the green representing the a new democracy, the red represents the courage of the ancestors, and the yellow is for the treasures the country has.
Yesterday on July 31, President Biden has signed a law insuring that every American Flag must be manufactured entirely in the United States 🇺🇸. So, fellow flag stores, we will rejoice and let yourselves shine! It has been something we have all been waiting for!
