This is an image in my most recent Hodges Pond comic strip, its from a series called "Trixie's Story". This is a turning point in the story, Trixie thinks she lost Matt (her love interest in the comic) but realizes true love is a gift bestowed on us not something that has to be earned. I love how this turned out and wanted to share it. The image is sometimes too small to see the details in the final comic strip.

Oh it has been I actually had to stop drawing when I did this image I was really starting to feel Trixie's heart ache I know that sounds silly but there is alot of truth that is about to get revieled in this comic. It is the pivot point of the story and I wanted it to be a true revelation for Trixie as to why Matt had been so persistent despite her reactions I also wanted to make a point about how she too has a responsibility (that part is still coming). Bit yeah this ended up being a serious emotional ride I originally never realized I'd go into. Quite a change from the typical humor of te strip but a story I think needed to be told about the mean little ferret. Sometimes people never realize the turmoil behind the grumpy Fasarde. I think people are too quick to write people off as mean or grumpy but never realize how much those connection really mean to some one. Sometimes it takes losing them to wake some one up other times kindness and compassiion are enough to get past the Fasarde. In Trixie's case she has a tough barrier of hurt and pain that seemed to almost be too much for Matt to break. But as you can see his efforts have not fallen on a hard heart.
Yeah I know this series has been deep and long but I'm really feeling this story and I didn't want to cheapen it by rushing it through. glad your enjoying it. :)

This image touched my heart as I like your character Trixie and I can relate to the personal conflicts she's been going through in the current story arc in the comic. I like the fact that she's getting solace from her "Good" conscience though. Here I had mistakenly believed she was playing "Difficult to get" not only because of her dreadful past, but also because that's the ways Martins like to play at romance.
