My rabbit/fox hybrid, Scottie wasn't after any type of treasure. He had already heard that the chest was actually a mimic in disguise, and that's what drew him forward.
The mimic must have sensed the hybrid's desires, for when Scottie knelt down opened the chest, it didn't immediately lash out to consume him. Instead, giving Scottie a clear view of its fleshy insides, it allowed the hybrid to simply lean his head and torso right inside.
Savoring the flavors with its thick, slimy tongue, the mimic took its time as both predator and prey enjoyed the encounter. The mimic was surprised when the hybrid continued to climb inside all on his own, until the lid of the chest was able to click back shut and another meal was claimed. It didn't know why Scottie was so eager to feed himself to it, but in the end, the mimic didn't really care. For once, it got to enjoy a non-struggling meal, enjoying the flavors and ensuing squirms as the hybrid ultimately digested away, leaving the mimic satisfied until its next prey would wander by.
My thanks to CornChuppie for offering up this YCH. He gave Scottie such a cute rump for the mimic to lap at as it enjoyed its meal.
