I just realized recently that in the original Rudyard Kipling "Jungle Book," Mowgli and his wolf pack killed Shere Khan by trapping the tiger in a canyon and stampeding a herd of buffalo over him.

Sound...familiar--?

I didn't know about it until I read the JB Wikipedia entry after having watched the Disney movie version.
