I was approached with a very unique and involved project that I am thrilled to finally share. My lovely client approached me with designing a race from scratch. So for the last 2 months we’ve been going back and forth with concept pages that explored several ideas and design elements.

We eventually planted on this pretty epic design for the race. Lanky and aerodynamic. Also sporting 2 pairs of eyes, which is a novelty for me.

The fun “not quite shown here” fact is this is technically a naked template for the race’s body type. A “Master Tape” if you will. But any special characters will sport various types of mane and hair-dos, along with fur patterns that take heavy inspirations from hyenas, lions, and cats of various coat patterns.

The “Censorship cookies” are hiding gender bits. My favorite part being that this race does not follow the typical “add human breasts to indicate female” trope. But instead, the entire race is androgynous by nature. With the females sporting belly teets where most mammals have them, on the lower belly zone. So that’s fun.
