Tiamat, five-headed goddess of dragons, drawn in celebration of the 2024 Chinese New Year.
This was probably one of the biggest and most ambitious drawings I've done in a long time. I can't count how many times I've re-drawn, re-colored, or re-sized different parts of her body, especially the parts where her scales transition between different colors of scales- I especially wanted those parts to look more "natural" rather than something that looked hastily cobbled together. Overall, I wanted my take on Tiamat to be different from the more "traditional" depictions of her while still keeping to the basic idea of a multi-headed dragon of different colors. I ended up going with a more serpentine body shape (fitting for Chinese New Year) with different sections having different dragon colors and designs, with the tail being a unique purple color to represent Tiamat's status as "royalty".
Needless to say I'm very proud of this. I originally wanted to finish this in time for Chinese New Year, but over time I realized my final vision would take way more time than that, so I just shot for finishing it by the end of the year.

Discord the draconequus' mother!!
Hmm, now there's another opportunity the show missed for a story arc. Discord has four siblings, and together with him they were representative of her 5 heads:
1. Decay (draconequus of rot and disease. Who would have been responsible for the weird magical diseases we saw in the show)
2. Despair (draconequus of sorrow and hopelessness)
3. Devour (draconequus of greed and gluttony)
4. Disaster (draconequus of war and ruin, who created the Windigoes!)
With their powers combined they summon Captain Tiamat to destroy the world! ;D
The story could stem from the idea that Discord had rather forgotten all about her, and the 5 Siblings of Disharmony were supposed to all have come together and brought her back a thousand years ago, but stuff happened. When the others appear and remind him, he no longer wants to take part because he likes the pones now! And then build up to climactic battle with the incomplete Tiamat (the only reason the ponies stand any chance at all) while Discord is withering away because he refuses to follow his aspect of chaos.

Bro this took me some studying to understand what was even going on along the length. My brain said immediately it's one dragon but then as I looked at the tail and many paws somehow I got confused and thought there were multiple due to the segments of color. Then I finally just traced the tail and realized it was all one dragon xd
