I made this piece of art based off lyrics of ''Harpy Hare'' by Yaelokre. they're an indie artist who makes indie folk music, I suggest checking them out if you're a fan of The Oh Hellos or Cosmo Sheldrake! these part of the lyrics used are based off a protective parent, a mother in this scenario, sheltering their children from the outside world - something I can heavily relate to. my mother is over protective of me, it was even worse since I live rural away from the city (and still do to this day) so I was unable to hang out with any of my friends. wherever I went I had a constant shadow of my mother or father looming over me, even if it was a simple walk to the kitchen. this has lead to paranoia and anxiety of the outside world.
still to this day I have a lingering fear of being out in public, and even going on anti anxiety meds hasn't done the trick. sheltering is abuse, and I am a victim of it.
