First picture featuring Sjir, Kethrix's kobold! Sjir was just a normal grey kobold when he met and pledged himself to Kethrix--if by normal one means 'fairly powerful sorcerer.' But 'Rix knew of a type of kobold called the Dragonwrought kobold with the blood of a dragon running through their veins! Unfortunately, Sjir wasn't one of those. Kethrix had the perfect solution, though. If Sjir ingested his blood, he would have the blood of dragons in him. Sjir and Kethrix knew it would work, of course. Everyone else was more than a little surprised when patches of Sjir's scales started to turn blue. Not quite the same shade as 'Rix, but the reason couldn't be clearer nonetheless.
Besides blue scales, there wasn't much else in the way of change, until the fateful day Sjir broke his horn. The shock and embarassment he felt was enough that... that... his horn pieces started floating. He had been granted psionic powers just like his dragon. There's no doubt about it, now: Sjir is Kethrix's Dragonwrought kobold.

"Sjir" means 'Smallblood' in yipyak, the kobold form of draconic. He took the name to reflect that he bears a small amount of Kethrix's blood. Most true draconic speakers interpret his name as 'Scroll,' however. As far as mistranslations go, 'scroll' for a magic-user isn't too bad. (Sjir is pronounced more or less the same as "Sheer")
