Sharla couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned in her tent. She sat up and stared at the tent walls. "Perhaps a late-night stroll would help..." she thought to herself. She quietly snuck away from the camp, careful not to wake her companions. She is a cat after all. She's quite good at being light-footed. Unfortunately, nothing got past Astarion.
Astarion watched from the darkness of his tent wondering what Sharla was up to. He began to trail quietly behind her, hoping she wouldn't notice.
Sharla walked for what felt like miles, but it was only a few minutes away from camp. She came across a small pond. The moonlight reflected in the cool, shimmering water. Sharla approached the edge of the pond and knelt down to the water's surface. She stared up at the moonlight and let out a heavy sigh. "I guess a midnight bath wouldn't hurt" she whispered softly. The water felt cool but not freezing. She stood up and slowly dipped her toes into the water. As she began to emerge herself into the pond, Astarion stood behind a nearby tree watching her with hungry but curious eyes.
Astarion and Sharla have only started dating for a short while now. The two of them haven't established much. Sharla is quite shy and recluse. It's hard to know what she wants and this frustrates Astarion. But its this frustration that also leads to more curiosity and the hunger to dig deeper into her mind. Something about this cat just made him yearn to stay. Was it because he likes cats? Or was it because there's something more?
Sharla stopped going further into the pond when the water met her chest. She moved her arms in a gentle swishing moment, watching the moonlight sparkle on the water. She then cupped her paws and filled them with water. She began to wash her face unaware that Astarion was approaching the edge of the pond behind her.
"Should I join her?" He thought to himself. "I wouldn't mind a little midnight snack".
Astarion proceeds to quietly undress himself. His pale buttock seemed to be almost glowing in the pale moonlight. Astarion quietly got into the water, wincing at the coolness. He didn't have fur to keep himself warm like Sharla did. He immediately regretted it but it's too late to turn back now. As Astarion approaches Sharlas back ready to take a bite, he stops for a minute. Even though Sharla looked silly with her wet, drooping fur, he couldn't help but admire the beauty and innocence that stood before him. He felt a warm sensation in his chest making him forget about the coldness of the water.
It was at this moment that Sharla turned around and let out a yelp. "ASTARION?!" She yells pinning her ears back and raising the fur on the back of her neck. "You scared me! What are you doing out here??"
Astarion snapped out of it and chuckled. "I couldn't let my little kitty go wandering alone in the dark forest all by herself, now could I?"
Sharla blushes and tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Well..I..uh.."
"Shh." Astarion says as he puts a finger up to her lips. "It's alright Darling" he purrs. "Maybe I just wanted a midnight snack?" he teased. Which wasn't exactly a lie. He was hungry after all but the longer he stood staring into her pale, blue eyes, the more that hunger disappeared. Sharla stared back, both of them getting lost into each other.
Sharla noticed a faint amber glow from the corner of her eyes and turned her head towards it. A bunch of fireflies lit up the trees near the edge of the pond, adding to the beauty of the night around them. Astarion couldn't take his eyes away from her, watching as she smiled admiring the fireflies. She was so fascinated by the silliest things. Something he missed about himself.
Astarion stepped closer to Sharla and gently wrapped a hand around her waist. Sharla turned towards him and he grabbed her chin. She noticed his beauitful crimson eyes even in the faint darkness. Both Sharla and Astarion felt so warm in such a cold body of water. Astarion leans in and gives her a kiss. He pulls away and smiles but she grabs his head and kisses him back. She then blushes, pulls away and turns her head.
"Can't get enough? I'm not surprised" Astarion says grinning.
Sharla looks at him again and continues to kiss him. Both of them sat there kissing for what felt like hours. There was something different about this kiss. Something different than the first time they shared lips at the Tiefling party. This was different. Perhaps...this may have been there first real kiss. Because from this point forward Astarion craved it more and more.
Thank you for reading I hope you liked it! I will go ahead and say I am NOT a writer by any means. ^_^'
I just love to read fluffy fanfiction and fantasize about my own scenarios. If you like it then perhaps I can write more in the future!
