Back around '91 Hanna-Barrera was trying to get the rights to Speed Racer...
(i worked there back then, tossing smurfs into the furnace to keep the infernal portals open)...Once i heard rumor of it i did this.. uhm...work of art... as i and co-conspirators sat around and ate lunch. A few days later i was paid for a week or two to draw Speed and crew. i wuz a total fanboi as a little kid - i gave precise renderings and turns of the Mach5, up-dated anime/american versions of the cast, blah blah blah...but another studio offered to do it ***cheaper***

anyway, hope this makes everyone really really serious about racing, or being a mask-wearing secret agent, or a mechanic girl-friend, or a chimp...
