Andrew looked at the crowded beach with a sigh. There were so many people that there was no place here he would be able to swim, or even even set his towel up on the sand without being pressed against someone else.
“I just wish I could have the beach to myself.” A man stepped up beside Andrew with a broad smile.
“Do you really wish you could have the beach to yourself?” Andrew turned his head to look at the man.
“Oh, it’s you.” The man nodded.
“You have one wish remaining before I am free from my bondage. Do you truly wish to have the beach to yourself master?” Andrew sighed. He had rescued the fae from a crystal which it had been imprisoned in for over a thousand years. In return for his freedom, the fae promised Andrew it would grant him three wishes before it went its own way. It had already granted two. After that, he didn’t have anything else he wanted which made the third linger. The fae had grown more and more insistent on granting the third wish, and its gratefulness was turning into anger.
“You know what? Yes. If it will let us finally part ways then that’s my third wish.” The fae nodded.
“As you wish.” It snapped its fingers, then disappeared. Andrew didn’t see anyone leaving the beach and thought he had been tricked until the changes began. Once they finished, the people fled from the dragon in a rush. Just as the fae promised Andrew had the beach entirely to himself.
