As gorgeous as your colored works are... I must admit that I'm positively FLOORED by this illustration! Grey-scale coloration is so unique and complex - obtaining JUST the right blend so as not to over-saturate or diminish the visual distinction of any given piece can be overbearing and downright ambitious but you rose to the challenge and overcame that hurdle with... FLYING COLORS.

I love the cute little exchange between these characters! This gives me strange Frank Miller/Sin City vibes but not as harsh or noir-graphic, just a sustained moment over a smoke between pals. Truly awesome artwork!!! <3 Thanks for sharing this piece!

I'm glad the Frank Miller vibes came through >:D Normally I would do this sort of thing just as a black-and-white for that very reason since Vo wanted a 'noir pic' like I used to do, but they then specifically wanted grey scale shading so wanted to lean into the frank miller aspect while making it a fair bit more detailed ^_^ Que looking at stills from the Sin City movie for inspiration instead of the comics xD

In canon it's a 1966 fairlane, but given my lack of familiarity with it, I just tried to semi-allude to the body shape of it- as much as I could given the tight angle- while making the interior more of a 'generic classic car'
