Hilda loved her Pokemon very much. Oshawott was sweet and shy. Pidove always wore his heart on his sleeve. Purrloin was, well, naughty but had her moments. But taking care of them was stressful, especially when trying to keep her own inner demons to herself.
One night, she woke up with a start and stepped out of the tent to clear her head. The Pinwheel Forest was soothing at night but hardly e to shake off her anxieties. Hilda couldn’t help but think of her mother and all she’d achieved as a Champion. Was she enough to reach there?
Was she… just enough?
”Poor humans,” a voice called out, making her jump in fright. “Always plagued by the burdens of your world.” Hilda darted around at the dark and saw a shadow race by the nearby trees. “But it’s soooo keyute when you’re all wound up.”
Hilda was further unnerved by the voice’s cooing voice and how it seemed so… patronizing. “Who’s there?” she demanded, trying to sound strong in spite of her shaky voice. “I-I have Pokemon ready to-“ However, her words died in her throat the second she saw... it.
A pair of eyes glowed from the shadows of nearby trees. Each one producing one ring of color after another. Yellow. Green. Blue. Yellow. Green. Blue. Yellow. Green. Blue. Hilda could almost feel her fear melting away like ice when she saw this radiance and took in how beautiful it looked. How... soothing the patterns repeating over and over felt to her heart.
The source of the eyes stepped out into the moonlight. Normally a large Vaporeon would’ve had Hilda in a panic but she felt anything but normal. Not with those beautiful eyes soothing her soul.
“You put so much work into taking care of your little ones,” Vaporeon cooed slyly, maintaining eye contact without blinking. “But who takes care of you?” She delighted in Hilda’s eyes beginning to reflect her’s, emitting the glowing colors that coiled around her mind tightly. “Perhaps… I could be your Trainer?”
“Pl-“ Hilda choked out, starting to resist. “-ease.” It felt so good. Far too good. This Vaporeon was hypnotizing her into a state of mindless bliss. She… had to stay grounded. Had to call out for her team.
Vaporeon grinned over Hilda trying to free herself. “Let’s start with a little walk to clear our mind,” she suggested before turning around. "Look at my tail, human. Look and follow."
Hilda would've be able to fight the hypnosis better without direct eye contact but Vaporeon's swishing tail commanded her focus. It carried on what the eyes started, acting as one big pendulum. "Attention!" the Vaporeon called out before marched forward like in a parade. Hilda found herself going down on all fours without even bending her knees and imitating the exact walk.
"One. Two. Three. Four. Keepitup. Two. Three. Four. One. Two. Three. Four. Keepitup. Two. Three. Four." Vaporeon didn't need to turn her head to see. The invisible leash she had on Hilda was only becoming stronger. Especially with the little drill she was making her do through the forest.
Hilda felt as stupid as she looked, marching on all fours to Vaporeon's repetitive chant. It was in perfect sync with her tail wagging back and forth. This humiliation coupled with the hypnosis made the euphoria bliss set in faster. A grin began to form on Hilda's lips while she became to each the chant, an earworm that was driving out any sense of danger.
It felt... good? Not to think. Not to be expected of anything but to be a good little pet. So much better than fussing over little Pokemon. I mean... she could use a break. How... bad could it be?
