WCOTP, Furry Spring Break 2003
Found a copy of art I had done for West Corner of the Park that was based on my attendance at Furry Spring Break in Orlando. My partner, Richard Konkle was just then recently stationed at McDill AFB . I managed to convince Richard to attend the con. Sales-wise it was...eh. But overall it was Fun as hell. Sadly some of the freaks of the fandom exposed their actions before Richard and forever cured him from attending a furry con since, even if GOH'd.
Plus a 'Friendly reminder' from Red about Richard's lack of getting things done. Richard was addicted to video games at the time. Today, he's got a human lamprey/Tapeworm using him as a 24/7 private Uber driver sucking up his time CONSTANTLY, DAILY, cause the Lamprey is a hypochondriac and seeing a constant illnesses/health issues runs to the ER, I need groceries, Run me here, run me there Pain in the ass.
Richard drew himself in the center.

I think it was. Yes, you had a table to yourself as did KD. I had gotten space with Mike Curtis who had to depart early back home since his wife was starting chemo the next day
I remember you and KD were taking so many potshots at each other it felt like being in Non Man's Land

Roz, I've been barking up that tree for years. Problem is Richard is truly a nice guy, But has doormat written across his forehead when it comes to JB. JB knows Richard is 'convenient' nearby, and hates using a bus, cause he hates waiting and generally hates the other bus passengers. Its the constant "Medical Emergencies" that JB has since he's a hypochondriac and insists going to the ER to be checked out. A Simple headache is a possible stroke, coughing is covid, a tooth ache was a simple popcorn husk stuck between his teeth that could have easily been removed by a toothpick instead. Stubs his toe...ER visit, has a cold...ER visit. Make things worse, JB even convinced his Ex Wife to use Richard as a personal on call Uber, to where she even has HER friends use him for various runs. But unlike JB, has "Occasionally" gave Richard gas money. But she's recently got herself a car , And I've told Richard to tell JB to use his Ex-wife for rides. To no avail.
Sadly JB just expects Richard to drop what he's doing and run to his beacon at once, no matter whats going on or the hour. Only once I know of Richard said no to JB, Richard and I were in Phoenix once, JB calls, insists Richard drive back to take him places. Richard explained the situation, but JB insists we return cause he doesn't want to ride the bus. And expects us back within the hour!! JB Called THREE more times insisting we return, on the third call I snatch the phone from Richard and told him his constant calling further delays us 2-3 hours more. JB just got upset and hung up.
When I call Richard, 9 out of 10 times he's not home, he's being JB'd! DAILY!!! Often multiple times a day. If not being JB'd in person, JB has Richard working on a asinine project of his called "The Vitamin Heroes" , basically Superheroes as vitamins . Cause JB truly thinks what ever he creates will be picked up my Marval or Pixar cause "They are that great an idea!" If not that, JB does some monthly Speech group were people give speeches about improving things. Richard usually has to rewrite JB's speech to make it better. And since Richard and I are creating T-shirt designs that actually sell, JB is constantly throwing more of his projects for Richard to work on instead, because JB's stuff is a sure thing!!
Personally I wish JB would simply just stroke out and give Richard his peace of mind.

In that case it seems like the problem is Richard. As the saying goes--no one can take advantage of you unless you let them. The easiest thing for him to do here is simply turn off his phone. Or get a second phone for actual friends and family and don't give that guy the number.
It's possible (even probable) that Richard gets something out of this weird relationship, and that's why he's unwilling to end it.
