Faster-Higher-Stronger, the motto of the Olympic Games.
Heh so while the games may be officially over (though I hadn’t seen the closing ceremonies prime time airing as of posting ), I do have one last Olympic themed pic, this one of myself and
MandelSoft having a fun 1x1 session of bipedal basketball (biped is both easier to draw and makes more sense for the sport in general lol), under the Olympic rings and Paris 2024 logo.
I make no effort to hide the fact that I’m a huge fan of the Olympic Games and what they represent, and am definitely sad to see them go, so I’ll leave them with these final thoughts:
It was a hell of an Olympics, with the United States coming away ranked first with an impressive 40 Gold, 44 Silver, and 42 Bronze*, for a total 126 medals.
Likewise Mandel’s Netherlands came away ranked 6th with 15 Gold, 7 Silver, and 12 Bronze, for a total of 34 medals.
And finally the host, France, a country I’ve come to love so much, finished 5th, with 16 Gold, 26 Silver, and 22 Bronze, for a total of 64 medals.
The full table can be found here, and I highly recommend checking it out to see how your country did and in what sports! You never know, they might have excelled at a sport you didn’t even know was in the games (Breaking anyone?): https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/medals
Overall, Paris, despite the controversy and problems they may have had, did a phenomenal job putting on a show for the world. It was already one of the most spectacular and well known cities on Earth, but this only elevated that higher. Now, just the long four year wait for Los Angeles 2028!
Thank you to
Cervelet for drawing this pic on such a time crunch!
*as of posting the US bronze medal total is up in the air thanks to a questionable decision on the gymnastics side. If you know, you know.
