
Here's a close-up example of how I hand-sew seams. Most of my fursuit work thus far has been hand-sewn using this method; my personal suit has held up for 3 years now with virtually no repairs needed. It's a whipstitch (aka blanket stitch), double-threaded and using extra-thick thread. Essentially, every stitch is a knot, so it's a very strong seam. This particular example is on a realistic wolf tail I'm working on, with 3 shades of grey fur.
