
As I mentioned back in my first post from the Lane Motor Museum, the building’s lower floor contains “The Vault” where still more cars are stored. From here, they are rotated up to the main gallery to keep the public displays fresh.
The cost of admission to the museum is nominal and, for an extra few bucks, a visitor can take a guided tour of the vault. Knowing that this might be my one and only chance to ever visit, I happily added the tour to my ticket. Am I ever glad I did.
The vehicles down here are packed rather close together (the main purpose of the Vault is storage, after all). As you can see from this photo, they are stacked in some areas. I shot an unbelievable number of photos down here.

Whenever a vault of ancient vehicles and weapons of value are opened, I am reminded of this scene in the Battletech game, in which the commander opens a vault of dormant "Mechs" with advanced weapons technology no factory ever makes anymore.
