A little something I baked in the interim of a larger werk that's currently being worked on.
Decided to clean up a plastic storage box of mine and ended re-encountering my seldomly used traditional colouring materials and my black paper sketchbook, the nostalgia combined with my eroding art block (and a bit of health anxiety I don't wish to get into) spurred me into finishing up my old attempts at species pieces or Sketchfolk attempts and then combine them together, challenging myself into colouring and lining smaller drawings and on a darker medium than I'm used to.
The result is...Very janky, and pretty amateurish in terms of drawing, picturing and stitching quality. However, I am still sorta proud of it, but I'll probably post newer, better-shot photos in the link above. Regardless, hope y'all enjoy...
A & B [2022-2023-2024] - Dagit Ubing Tengarabii, or The Midnight Children. The spawn of the goddess Inarabii, who sacrificed herself giving birth to them. The Children are aloof but kind, guiding and protecting travellers, disappearing as soon as they appear though occasionally linger for mischievous fun.
C [2023-2024] - Maran, Mother of the Air
D [2023-2024] - Ke-Rol, Hand of Light
E [2023-2024] - a bayokano tribesman from any one of another Bakalon tribes
F [2023-2024] - a young man of the Siningsing tribe readying his brawling prowess
G [2023-2024] - a male aruseng rearing up in curiosity

At first glance, I believed this was a charcoal picture on a black slate. I was extremely surprised to see it that clean. I have one at home and it gets pretty messy pretty quikly, expecially if you make mistakes.
Then I read your description and I understood my silly thouth.
These drawings are still way better than the ones I make on the slate.
I like your artwork a lot. I love that effect: colour on darkness.

That's interesting and fun to know. Very curious to know what your charcoal-on-black artwork looks like though, since as I've stated in the description that these drawings are very jank.
Thanks for the compliments regardless, and there's still literally much more for me to learn drawing on a black medium.
